A whole person
The experience I have had a Bert Nash has changed my life. I just graduated from the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program with the skills that I need to live a life worth living! It is so exciting to see how much my life has changed because of this program. I came to Bert Nash in a time of crisis, when not only I was concerned about my well-being, but so were others. I reluctantly started DBT, skeptical that I could benefit from a skills group in addition to individual therapy. I thought that I would never enjoy group and that it was not even worth a shot. I started attending group and much to my surprise, I really got into it!
I created a network of friends who were also going through some of the challenges that I was, which was important because sometimes you feel alone when you are in crisis. This group was more than just a "support group", it was a group of people learning to make the best of their lives. We laughed (A LOT) and if you cried, there was always someone there to validate you and help you feel better. I was such a mess when I came to Bert Nash and now I leave as a whole person, ready to take the world by storm. Thank you for everything that you have given me and the encouragement that I have received.

In the middle of a crisis
When a devastating event happens in your life it is easy to feel isolated and hopeless.
Our family found Bert Nash at a time when we were smack-dab in the middle of a crisis and because of the support and therapy we received,we can look back and see several areas that changed our lives.
When you have a child that is intent of harming themselves, and you don't know why, it is very helpful to know that there are so many kind and talented people that make up Bert Nash who makes it easy to find the right fit for your crisis.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(D.B.T.) led by Kristen Runk and her team was so important for us to use as a baseline for healing. We still use the principles on a daily basis.
D.B.T. allowed us to use the individual therapy sessions with Julie Nelson more effectively. One of the things that made a difference was that all therapists were kind and respectful and at the same time would be firm in making us be responsible for the words and actions w eused in our quest for recovery.
The many fine folks at Bert Nash have their fingerprints on the successful outcomes we have found.
The parent support group meetings and individual sessions with Charlotte Passoni taught us how to cope and hope. It was so helpful to know that others are going through their own crisis and are using there resources you provide.
Bert Nash is such a valuable jewel for our community that it is important to tell others about how they can find hope and health within the Bert Nash community.
Mere words cannot express how our family has benefited from the heroes at Bert Nash.
