IDEB

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Belonging

At the Bert Nash Center, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Belonging (IDEB) are central to everything we do. We are dedicated to fostering a culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported—both as individuals seeking care and as team members. Through a combination of targeted workshops, training, partnerships, and strategic planning, we actively work to create an environment where healing and growth are accessible to all.

Achieving true equity requires us to address both historical and present-day injustices, and to break down barriers—whether they be economic, social, or systemic—that prevent access to health and healthcare. Our commitment extends to ensuring that our workplace is not only inclusive but also a place where all employees feel empowered to contribute, advance, and thrive.

We understand that this journey is ongoing, and we fully recognize that our work is never done. Every day, we strive to improve ourselves, our practices, and the services we offer. At Bert Nash Center, we remain deeply committed to the idea that creating a safe and inclusive environment is an evolving process—one that requires constant reflection, effort, and growth.

IDEB Committee at the BNC

The mission of the BNC IDEB Committee is to foster a culture where inclusion, diversity, equity, and belonging (IDEB) are celebrated and seamlessly integrated into organizational practices, training programs, and service outcomes, as well as workplace culture.

Currently, the IDEB Committee is collaborating with Dr. Danica Moore to assess existing equity practices and identify opportunities for growth. Additionally, the committee is working closely with cross-functional teams, including the executive team and board members, to ensure foundational IDEB training is provided to all staff. This initiative aims to strengthen a culture of inclusion and equity throughout the agency.
