The Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center is pleased to announce several leadership updates that strengthen the Bert Nash Center’s ability to serve the community, including the addition of its first in-house General Counsel, the promotion of a new Clinical Director, and leadership title updates that reflect the scope and impact of key leaders across the agency.

Joining the Bert Nash Center in this newly established role is Ivery Goldstein, who will serve as General Counsel.

Ivery brings nearly two decades of legal experience across employment law, labor relations, healthcare, regulatory compliance, risk management, and public service. Most recently, she served as Senior Attorney for General Law and Civil Rights with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 7. Her background also includes legal experience supporting healthcare organizations, nonprofit organizations, and public agencies.

“Adding our first General Counsel position marks an important step forward for Bert Nash,” said Dr. Kirsten Watkins. “As the behavioral health needs of our community and organization evolve, we realized our need to have a General Counsel position to help guide us through the complexities of our work and ensure that we have the internal expertise to navigate those complexities. Ivery is exactly the person we need, and she brings substantial experience and expertise to this role. We are thrilled to have Ivery join our team!”

“Throughout my career, I have been drawn to public service and mission-oriented organizations. The desire to work locally and be involved in my community drew me to Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center because of the breadth of the work Bert Nash does and the importance it has in Douglas County,” said Ivery Goldestein. “In this time that we are living in of uncertainty, but also of growth and change, what makes me excited to join Bert Nash is that it is made up of people who are passionate about what they do and who care about the community they live and work in to make it a better place for everyone. I am excited to support Bert Nash’s mission and those who are working hard to carry it out. It takes energy, perseverance, and creativity to make an organization succeed. I want to be a part of this effort to strengthen Bert Nash’s ability to serve Douglas County.”

In addition to welcoming Ivery to the Bert Nash Center, we are excited to share the promotion of Tamara Heishman to Clinical Director. A Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Tamara brings more than 16 years of clinical experience serving individuals and families in our community, including nearly 14 years at BNC. Tamara has served in nearly every clinical role at Bert Nash including a case manager, waiver facilitator, therapy intern, therapist, and manager.

Most recently serving as Program Manager for the Child and Family Outpatient Therapy team, Tamara has played a key role in strengthening access to care for youth in our community by enhancing clinical services and supporting the professional growth of youth therapists. During her time as Program manager, she eliminated wait times for youth therapy, expanded therapeutic programming, improved coordination with community partners related to client care, and created a culture of commitment to the highest quality care with her team.

“Tamara's extensive knowledge of our programs, strong clinical expertise, and dedication to the people we serve make her exceptionally well-positioned to lead the Bert Nash Center’s clinical services into the future.” said Dr. Watkins. “I am excited to see Tamara lead our clinical services and advance our mission in the years ahead.”

“At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to improving access to compassionate, high-quality mental health care for the community I grew up in and care deeply about. Serving this community is more than a profession for me - it is personal. I'm passionate about helping our clients feel seen, supported, and connected to services that can truly improve their quality of life.” said Tamara. “As a Clinical Director, what matters most to me is creating a culture where both clients and staff can thrive. I strive to lead with empathy, authenticity, and accountability while continuing to strengthen services, support our staff, and expand meaningful care to our community.”

Lastly, we have several leadership title updates that more accurately reflect the scope of responsibilities and strategic leadership these individuals and their teams provide across our system of care.

  • Marsha Page-White – Chief Operating Officer

  • Dani Edwards – Chief Financial Officer

  • Amy Finkeldei – Senior Director of Quality Assurance

“These updates recognize the depth of leadership across our organization and the critical role these leaders play in supporting our mission,” said Dr. Watkins. “As Bert Nash continues to respond to the growing needs of our community, it is important that leadership structure evolves alongside that work.”

The Bert Nash Center is focused on strengthening access to care, supporting its workforce, and building systems that allow it to continue respond to needs, restore lives, and build a healthy community.
