Outside for a Better Inside, along with Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center and the city of Lawrence, invite you to the Outside for a Better Inside nature trail ribbon cutting and trail walk. The trail will be home to the future Sandra J. Shaw Community Health Park. Bert Nash will donate the land to the city of Lawrence later this spring. The park is named for the late Bert Nash CEO.

The ribbon cutting and trail walk are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, May 2, located west of the entrance to Burcham Park, 200 Indiana St. The trail, named in honor of the Outside for a Better Inside organization, was funded by Outside for a Better Inside and a matching grant from the Sunflower Foundation.

Enter on the access road on West Second Street, north of the Kaw River Water Treatment Plant, approximately 300 feet past the entrance of Burcham Park. A short ceremony and recognition will be held followed by a short walk on part of the trail. Those wanting to participate in the trail walk, please wear comfortable shoes.
