Meet our WRAP therapists – Julie Berndsen

With the start of school approaching, we want to recognize our individual WRAP therapists. WRAP (Working to Recognize Alternative Possibilities) is a Bert Nash Center in-school therapy program, in partnership with Douglas County schools. The groundbreaking program began in 1997 and continues to thrive today. WRAP assigns a master’s-level clinician to a school to work collaboratively with the school’s mental health professionals to help with the behavioral, emotional, and psychological problems students can have. We are proud of our WRAP therapists and wish them and all Douglas County students and their families, as well as teachers, staff, and administrators a successful school year.

"I do what I do because no matter what experiences you have had previously with mental health...I want to make it a positive experience. It's a big step to ask for help and I want to make that less stigmatizing. Working with children in the school setting give the preventive services that Douglas County continues to need."
