Meet our WRAP therapists – Kris Rawls

With the start of school approaching, we want to recognize our individual WRAP therapists. WRAP (Working to Recognize Alternative Possibilities) is a Bert Nash Center in-school therapy program, in partnership with Douglas County schools. The groundbreaking program began in 1997 and continues to thrive today. WRAP assigns a master’s-level clinician to a school to work collaboratively with the school’s mental health professionals to help with the behavioral, emotional, and psychological problems students can have. We are proud of our WRAP therapists and wish them and all Douglas County students and their families, as well as teachers, staff, and administrators a successful school year.

"The reason I do what I do is because I have been there. I was a youth from a low-income family who struggled to make sense of everything during a pivotal stage of my growth. Without a strong support system, I'm not sure where I would be today. Serving youth in their socioemotional development is absolutely necessary if we desire to create a community that promises compassion, hope, inclusivity, and respect. I am of the mind that it takes a village to properly raise a youth, and I am here to make myself available to do my part."
