New HR director to join Bert Nash Center team

Bert Nash Center CEO Patrick Schmitz announced that Amalia Mendez will be the organization’s new Human Resources director. She will start her new duties Nov. 23.

“Amalia will be a great addition,” Patrick said. “We are excited for her to join the Bert Nash Center team.”

Amalia lives in Lawrence. She began her career in HR in 2009, with the Kansas Organization of State Employees in Topeka. Since 2017, she has been area human resources manager with Securitas Security Services in Kansas City, Mo., where she managed a team of 12 HR managers.

“Helping others is always at the forefront of everything I do,” Amalia said. “I am excited and eager to join the Bert Nash Mental Health Center in improving lives and contributing to Douglas County.”
